Mad Science offers curriculum-correlated, hands-on preschool and elementary-level workshops for kids that complement concepts taught in class. It's like taking a field trip without ever leaving the classroom or even your home! With professional lessons, unique equipment, and animated instructors, Mad Science workshops are an ideal way to reinforce core science concepts! Programs are available both in-person and virtually. The cost of the program is $170-$200 per 1 hour workshop for up to 20 or 25 students.

MADE for Kids Design Challenge

The mission of The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum is to engage all children with hands-on learning experiences that spark imagination, pique curiosity, enhance creativity and develop problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic. Education is at the heart of The Magic House's mission and the Museum offers guided field trip programs for students in preschool through middle school on core curricular subjects including STEM, social studies and literacy, outreach programming, STEAM Family Nights and more. This virtual field trip will come to your “classroom” live from The Magic House’s satellite location in the City of St. Louis, MADE for Kids. Each field trip begins with an introduction to the design thinking process, so important to STEM learning today. Then the fun begins as students are given a design challenge to individually complete at their own workspaces using just paper, glue and scissors. The program features a facilitated grade-level specific challenge designed to support Missouri grade-level expectations. Virtual field trips are available Tuesday through Thursday, throughout the day.

Students are invited to the STEAM-infused makerspace where they will explore, create and collaborate, plus participate in a special grade-level specific design challenge, inviting students to sharpen their problem-solving skills. This field trip is offered Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 to 10:30 am. The cost of the field trip is $5 per person, with scholarships available.

St. Louis Zoo – Virtual Field Trips

Choose your own virtual field trip experience! Two Zoo Educators will guide you on your adventure, one in our Distance Learning studio, and one at the Zoo locations you choose so you can see what the animals are doing! Your students will have a blast learning about Zoo animals and interacting with Zoo Educators while never leaving your classroom. The cost of the virtual field trips is $225. Field trips are scheduled by request.

Education is at the heart of The Magic House's mission and the Museum offers guided field trip programs for students in preschool through middle school on core curricular subjects including STEM, social studies and literacy, outreach programming, STEAM Family Nights and more. Featuring the classic story The Three Little Pigs, preschoolers are invited to join us for an interactive virtual field trip experience where they won’t huff or puff, but they might just blow us away with their ideas! In this new field trip experience, preschoolers will create unique solutions to a hands-on design challenge using simple supplies. This virtual field trip is offered Tuesday through Thursday, throughout the day.
