Mad Science offers curriculum-correlated, hands-on preschool and elementary-level workshops for kids that complement concepts taught in class. It's like taking a field trip without ever leaving the classroom or even your home! With professional lessons, unique equipment, and animated instructors, Mad Science workshops are an ideal way to reinforce core science concepts! Programs are available both in-person and virtually. The cost of the program is $170-$200 per 1 hour workshop for up to 20 or 25 students.

MADE for Kids Design Challenge

The mission of The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum is to engage all children with hands-on learning experiences that spark imagination, pique curiosity, enhance creativity and develop problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic. Education is at the heart of The Magic House's mission and the Museum offers guided field trip programs for students in preschool through middle school on core curricular subjects including STEM, social studies and literacy, outreach programming, STEAM Family Nights and more. This virtual field trip will come to your “classroom” live from The Magic House’s satellite location in the City of St. Louis, MADE for Kids. Each field trip begins with an introduction to the design thinking process, so important to STEM learning today. Then the fun begins as students are given a design challenge to individually complete at their own workspaces using just paper, glue and scissors. The program features a facilitated grade-level specific challenge designed to support Missouri grade-level expectations. Virtual field trips are available Tuesday through Thursday, throughout the day.

Students are invited to the STEAM-infused makerspace where they will explore, create and collaborate, plus participate in a special grade-level specific design challenge, inviting students to sharpen their problem-solving skills. This field trip is offered Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 to 10:30 am. The cost of the field trip is $5 per person, with scholarships available.

And In This Corner: Cassius Clay is the story of the young man who would become Muhammad Ali. From his relationship with a white police officer who introduced him to boxing as a kid in Jim Crow-era Louisville to his gold medal-winning performance in the 1960 Rome Olympics, Cassius holds onto the faith that his potential is unlimited. But it is the friends from his childhood who are becoming Freedom Riders who ultimately challenge him to understand that there is more to life than personal success: he must use his gifts to work for the good of his community.

Take a virtual field trip to the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station! Your students can join us virtually from your classroom or from their individual homes! Our STEM-based virtual education classes include live presentations with ambassador animals, footage of our marine animals, lessons from biologists, a pre-recorded virtual tour of the Aquarium, and a follow up activity! Your students’ curiosity will be sparked as they learn about our animals – we encourage questions! All classes are aligned with state learning standards.
