Geospatial Story Map Competition Educator Training

This FREE training session, presented by The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s (USGIF) St. Louis Area Working Group K-12 Subcommittee, is designed to encourage and support middle and high school educators as they introduce geospatial concepts into their classroom. By starting with the Esri School Mapping Competition, educators and students can learn and practice geospatial concepts and tools in a fun, low-risk environment.

Middle and High school educators interested in helping students create and submit a story map using geospatial tools for the state and national ESRI Story Map Contest in 2023.

The course will walk educators through the following:

  • Principles of geospatial thinking
  • Esri Story Maps Software (free) – registration and set up
  • Overview of state and national competitions
  • Engaging students and student projects

*In-person attendance guarantees a hands-on learning experience and instruction from seasoned GIS educators. The session will also be recorded and available for educators unable to attend.
